High-Oleic Soy

An Energy-Dense Feed Ingredient

High-oleic soybeans are gaining momentum in dairy rations for their nutritional value as both a bypass protein source and a more rumen-friendly fat source. High-oleic soybeans are a variety of soybean containing about 75% oleic acid compared to a conventional soybean which is about 22% oleic acid. This higher oleic acid content enables a higher feeding rate than a conventional soybean and less risk of milk fat depression.1

Improve Income Over Feed Costs (IOFC)

High-oleic soybeans have the ability to impact both sides of the IOFC equation. They can increase milk components, specifically milk fat, depending on the changes made to the diet. They can also reduce feed costs, especially when replacing expensive fat supplements.
