Michigan Dairy Reaps Benefits of High-Oleic Soybeans Since 2019

Tim Hood of Hood Dairy near Paw Paw, Michigan, pioneered the use of high-oleic soybeans, first feeding them to his herd in 2019. It started as an effort to reduce feed costs and find a protein source that could be grown on-farm.

Nutritionist PJ Neff from VitaPlus says the high-oleic soybeans have replaced fat and protein sources. Hood Dairy has not only seen increased milk fat and milk production, but also an improvement in herd health.
