Late gestation nutrition may make or break today’s high-performing sows

A new study from South Dakota State University shows that a nutrient-enriched late-gestation feeding strategy improves sow micronutrient status, enhances farrowing performance and increases total born and liveborn in the next cycle.

The concept of “feeding for the next litter” is gaining traction, and these results highlight why the final 30–40 days of pregnancy may be one of the most powerful leverage points for improving sow longevity and lifetime productivity.
