My Lady’s Manor Farm near Monkton, Maryland started growing and feeding high-oleic soybeans to their 400-head dairy herd and saw an increase in milk components, which was sustained through high-stress summer months.
Justin Smith, fifth generation of My Lady’s Manor Farm, discusses how the farm made changes to accommodate storage for high-oleic soybeans, roasting, feeding rate and the results they’ve seen. The dairy herd now consistently sits at a butterfat percentage of 4.8% to 4.9%.
